Margita Czóbelová as a Girl

Mednyánszky’s relationship with Katona, author of the children’s portraits, was contradictory. The demands that Ladislav made of him were probably too high. Furthermore, at a later time the younger man developed a paranoid suspicion that Mednyánszky was copying his works and that he was inciting the entire world to combine against Katona. Some clues to this relationship are found also in the artist’s diaries.
