The work was created as part of The Time is Now project, which consisted of three artistic interventions in the Slovak National Gallery. The project was created within the Rainbow Pride Bratislava event in 2023.

Tear is an intimate memorial for Juraj and Matúš, young queer people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on Zámocká Street in Bratislava. The drop on one of the windows of the gallery is a symbolic tear cried for the lives that were lost.

"The development of LGBTI+ rights in Slovakia has been slow and one step forward is often followed by two steps backwards. The title of the exhibition refers to the fact that pioneering ideas are often silenced by the phrase 'now is not the time'. However, history teaches us that positive change happens because of people who are not discouraged and decide to act,"
